Join us for a fun workshop where you’ll create your very own rain barrel for your yard. You’ll also learn more lake-friendly tips, like how to create a rain garden and why you should!

Clean water comes from thoughtful land use practices. Rain barrels are a great way to conserve water, to supply non-chlorinated water for gardening, and to keep runoff from entering our lakes, rivers, and streams.

Workshop attendees will learn about the problems associated with stormwater runoff, ways to conserve water in their homes and yards, and watershed friendly landscaping techniques, like creating beautiful and useful rain gardens.

Cost: $25, includes supplies and a rain barrel to take home. Fee payable to Essex County Soil and Water Conservation District at the time of the event. Cash or check accepted.

Please RSVP by emailing kerry@lakeplacidlandconservancy.org.

Space limited to 20.

Many thanks to our partners Essex County Soil and Water Conservation District and John Brown Lives! Friends of Freedom for helping to bring this program to Lake Placid.
